March 24-25:  
Bend, OR hosts 2017 U.S. National Snowshoe Championships

March 24-26 marks the dates that the top snowshoe athletes from around the country will descend on Bend, Oregon to duke it out for the title as the fittest snowshoer in the USA! Bend has become a mecca for the uber fit and it looks forward to hosting the 2017 Snowshoe Nationals where we will crown the 2017 champions.
*There is also non-championship racing for anyone who wants to participate!

The US Snowshoe Nationals will utilize some of the best snowshoe terrain in Central Oregon to see who is at the top of their game. The course will start and end at Mount Bachelor, 20 miles west of Bend along the Cascade Lakes Scenic byway. For those of you who are looking to try out snowshoe racing there will also be non-championship racing for all to enjoy.

How to qualify to compete in the U.S. National Snowshoe Championships;

An athlete must be a current member of the U.S. Snowshoe Association. The annual membership fee is $30.00 and that includes a one year subscription to the Trail Runner Magazine, among other benefits. Athletes must register for USSSA membership PRIOR to competing in their regional qualifying event. Day of registration is permitted. Visit www.snowshoeracing.com to register for membership.

The National Snowshoe Championships include the following events:

1) Junior A and Junior B Boys & Girls 5km National Snowshoe Championships
2) Senior Women’s 10km National Snowshoe Championships
3) Senior Men’s 10km National Snowshoe Championship
4) A 5km Citizen’s Run/Walk
5) A Kid’s Kilo
6) a 4 x 2.5km Snowshoe Team Relay
7) A Snowshoe Half Marathon National Championship
8) A Snowshoe Marathon National Championship
Plus a Vendor Expo, Prize Raffles and lots of ancillary social events.
